Today I had to repair a Canon 24-105, the typical aperturse flex replacement. Have done at least 40-50 times till yet. After assembling, adjusting the coaxiality, final assembly I wanted to check the aperturs…
Not working.
F*ck.
Checking the cable – one coil is broken.
Disassembling (by the way, this was a previosly dropped and repaired lens, so many screws just rotating in place etc etc)., verifying – and the coil is ok, the CABLE is broken.
WHAT?!?!
And yes, the brand new cable is interrupted. I have to repeat the whole process from the beginning.
So, VERIFY the cables after soldering !
